One of the most fascinating aspects of piecing together a book about Midland's history is coming across rarely seen photographs. This one is a case in point.

Study it and you can determine from exactly where the picture was taken. A couple hints: the Woolworth's is now the adult probation office, the Goodyear is now a small cafe.

The photograph was taken in the 1950s. Judging by the pedestrian's position in the picture, Midland drivers actually stopped at red lights in those days.

Main and Texas, the photographer is standing in Main st basically where Midland Center is now.
